What sizes do your timber fence posts come in?
We stock square edge posts in 75 x 75mm and 100 x 100mm sections, in 1.8m, 2.4m and 3.0m lengths. The 3.0m option is currently 100 x 100mm only.
What's the difference between 75 x 75mm and 100 x 100mm posts?
The 75 x 75mm (3x3) post suits standard panel fencing and lighter runs. The 100 x 100mm (4x4) post is stronger, better for gate posts, taller fences and wind-loaded boundaries.
Which fence post length do I need for a 6ft fence?
A 1.8m post is the common choice for 6ft panel fencing, with part of the post set into the ground. For taller fences or sloping ground, a 2.4m post gives more set depth.
How do I fix timber fence posts in the ground?
Most posts are set in concrete, postcrete or a ready-to-use post mix. Dig the hole, position the post upright and brace it while the mix sets to hold a firm, straight line.
