Why Use Landscaping Fence Panels

Fence panels are a practical choice for defining boundaries, screening views and adding privacy to gardens. They're quicker to install than board-by-board fencing and come in pre-built sections that fit between posts.

  • Continental fence panels feature vertical slats with gaps between boards, offering partial privacy while allowing light and airflow through the fence line
  • Featheredge fence panels use overlapping tapered boards for solid privacy screening, commonly used for rear garden boundaries and side passages
  • Waney lap panels are made from overlapping horizontal boards with a rustic waney edge, suitable for budget-conscious projects and informal garden boundaries
  • Picket fencing provides decorative low-level boundary marking for front gardens, pathways and dividing sections within larger gardens
  • Pressure-treated panels come pre-treated to protect against rot, insect damage and fungal decay, extending panel life in outdoor conditions

Most panels are 1.83 m (6 ft) wide and fit standard post spacing. Heights range from low picket styles up to full 1.8 m privacy panels.

Fence Panels FAQs

  1. What height fence panels do you stock?
We stock fence panels in heights from 0.9 m (3 ft) picket styles up to 1.8 m (6 ft) privacy panels. Most garden boundary panels are 1.2 m, 1.5 m or 1.8 m tall.
  2. What's the difference between featheredge and waney lap panels?
Featheredge panels use overlapping tapered boards fixed vertically for solid privacy. Waney lap panels have horizontal overlapping boards with natural waney edges, typically lighter in construction and lower in cost.
  3. Do your fence panels come pressure-treated?
Yes. All our timber fence panels are pressure-treated with preservative to resist rot and decay. [need to verify: specific treatment warranty period for fence panels]
  4. How far apart should fence posts be for standard panels?
Standard fence panels are 1.83 m (6 ft) wide and require posts spaced at 1.83 m centres. Allow for the panel thickness when setting out post positions.
  5. Do you deliver fence panels in Scunthorpe?
We deliver within a 45-mile radius of our Scunthorpe branch. Orders over £500 plus VAT qualify for free delivery. Fence panels are delivered on our own vehicles.
